How the City Inspects Exterior Work

Roof and Siding replacement in the area runs on photographs, because the city inspects from them. Photos of the waterproof layer at the roof edge and the wrap behind the Siding have to reach City Hall before a roof or Siding project can be inspected, so each stage is photographed as it finishes, before the next one covers it up. Most of the housing here predates 2000, mainly ramblers and split-levels.

What the River Bluffs Change

The bluffs facing the Minnesota River set the terms up here. North River Hills and River Hills sit on the slope above the river, where wooded lots and older ranch homes mean shaded, moss-prone roofs and Gutters that fill twice a year. Burnhaven Woods mixes single-family homes and townhomes in between. Down toward Crystal Lake and Alimagnet the ground flattens out and the lots are more regular, which makes access around the house easier.
